Range Rover P38 upto 2002

A lot of people are now fitting the later L322 front headlights and panels to the Range Rover P38 with stunning results but to date there has not been a cost effective solution for updating the rear of the Range Rover P38. To satisfy this demand we have spent the last 6 months developing this rear end conversion kit. This idea of this kit is to get as close to the appearance of the L322 for minimum cost and effort. This conversion does not require any cutting of your panel work.

The kit uses Landrover Defender rear lights ( NAS type ) fitted into specially molded rear light housing panels. These panels can be painted silver to look similar to the L322 light clusters or they can be painted body colour.

The tailgate conversion is simply a matter of removing the light assemblies from the tailgate and then bonding on the supplied over panel that covers down to the lower ridge line ( about 2" from the bottom of the tailgate ). This panel is designed to take the L322 reversing lights ( not supplied but available from Landrover - or see our other listings for these ). The tailgate release switch remains in place.

Full wiring instructions are included in the kit.

No provision is made in the kit for a rear fog lamp - we suggest adding a stand alone fog lamp under the rear bumper.

Looking at the prices on eBay for P38's with L322 conversions it should be possible to recoup the costs of this upgrade if you decide to sell your car.

1x LH rear light housing molded from fiberglass designed to take NAS type rear lights. This is unpainted.

1x LH rear light inner blanking panel

1x RH rear light inner blanking panel

1 x Lower Tailgate over panel molded from fiberglass designed to accept L322 reversing lamps. This is unpainted.

Instructions.

What else will you need to purchase to complete your conversion

2 x RED NAS type lights ( stop tail ) including bulbs wiring and connectors.

2 x ORANGE NAS type lights ( Indicator ) including bulbs and wiring and connectors ( you could use clear lamps with orange bulbs as we have in our full kit )

PU bonding compound or similar to bond on tailgate panel.

Silicone sealer to seal around rear light blanking plates / wiring connections.

Bolts to bolt in rear light clusters ( M6 x 100 coach bolts ).

2 x Genuine Range Rover L322 reversing light units ( Left PN XFD000053 and Right PN XFD000043 ).

Paint to paint the parts as required.

1 x Rear stand alone fog lamp to mount under the bumper.

Fitting Details

The rear lights bolt into place - no cutting or bonding required

The tailgate panel is a bond over panel - no cutting needed - just remove the original lights and bond on this over panel.

Some adjustment of the rear tailgate catch may be needed - fitting a washer under the catch is one solution.
